Kid-Approved Rolo Pretzel Turtles: Easy 3-Ingredient Recipe

Rolo Pretzel Turtles - featured image

These Kid-Approved Rolo Pretzel Turtles are the perfect salty-sweet treat with only three ingredients. Quick and easy to make, they feature crunchy pretzels, soft caramel, and toasted pecans for an irresistible snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 30–36 mini pretzels (salted twists recommended)
  • 30–36 Rolo candies (about 11 oz bag)
  • 30–36 pecan halves (raw, unsalted)
  • Optional: flaky sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Toast pecans in a small skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes, shaking occasionally, until fragrant and lightly golden. Set aside to cool.
  3. Arrange pretzels in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  4. Place one unwrapped Rolo in the center of each pretzel.
  5. Bake for 3-4 minutes, until Rolos are shiny and slightly puffed but still hold their shape.
  6. Immediately press one toasted pecan half onto each Rolo, gently pressing down so the caramel spreads slightly.
  7. Optional: Sprinkle with flaky sea salt while chocolate is still warm.
  8. Let cool completely on the baking sheet for 20-30 minutes (or refrigerate for 10 minutes) until set.

Notes

Watch the oven closely; overbaking causes caramel to bubble over. Toast pecans for best flavor. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, with parchment between layers. For nut-free version, press a mini marshmallow instead of pecan.
