These easy honey BBQ meatballs are the perfect last-minute appetizer for game day or any gathering. With just five minutes of prep and a handful of simple ingredients, you can create a crowd-pleasing dish that looks like you spent hours on it.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds frozen fully cooked meatballs
  • 1 ½ cups BBQ sauce
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley or chives, chopped (for garnish, optional)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together BBQ sauce, honey, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes (if using) until smooth.
  2. Place the frozen meatballs directly into a 4- to 6-quart slow cooker in an even layer.
  3. Pour the prepared sauce over the meatballs and gently stir to coat evenly.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 2 to 3 hours, stirring gently halfway through.
  5. If the sauce is too thin, leave the lid slightly cracked for the last 30 minutes. If too thick, stir in a tablespoon of water or chicken broth.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley or chives and sesame seeds before serving. Serve warm from the slow cooker with toothpicks or small forks.

Notes

For best results, use frozen meatballs—they hold their shape better than homemade. Cook on low heat to prevent the sauce from burning. These meatballs taste even better the next day; make them ahead and reheat on low. Keep the slow cooker on warm during serving to maintain the perfect texture.
