A quick and budget-friendly bourbon pecan pie recipe using simple ingredients and a pre-made crust, perfect for any occasion and loved by all ages.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pre-made 9-inch pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (toasted for extra flavor)
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar (dark brown sugar preferred)
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup (can substitute with maple syrup)
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon (e.g., Buffalo Trace)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons heavy cream for silkier filling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the pie crust by unrolling and placing it in your pie dish. Press evenly against the sides and trim excess. Prick the bottom a few times with a fork.
  3. Toast the chopped pecans on a baking sheet in the oven for 5-7 minutes until fragrant and slightly darkened. Watch carefully to avoid burning.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together brown sugar, corn syrup, and melted butter until smooth.
  5. Beat in the eggs one at a time, fully incorporating each before adding the next.
  6. Stir in bourbon, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
  7. Fold the toasted pecans gently into the filling mixture.
  8. Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust, smoothing the top with a spatula if needed.
  9. Place the pie dish on a baking sheet and bake for 50-60 minutes. Cover crust edges with foil strips halfway through baking if they brown too quickly.
  10. Check for doneness: the filling should be set but slightly jiggly in the center. A toothpick inserted should come out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs.
  11. Cool the pie completely on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before slicing.

Notes

Use room temperature eggs and butter for smooth filling. Toast pecans to enhance flavor. Cover crust edges with foil halfway through baking to prevent burning. Let pie cool completely before slicing for best texture. Substitute bourbon with vanilla extract for alcohol-free version. Maple syrup can replace corn syrup for a twist.
