Quick and easy Halloween dessert cups made with layers of creamy chocolate pudding, crushed Oreo crumble, and gummy worms. Ready in under 20 minutes with simple ingredients, these spooky treats are perfect for last-minute parties and bake sales.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (3.9-ounce) boxes instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold whole milk
  • 1 (15.35-ounce) package regular Oreo cookies
  • 24 gummy worms
  • Halloween sprinkles (optional, for garnish)
  • 1/4 cup crushed graham crackers (optional)

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Open the package of Oreos and dump the whole thing into a food processor. Pulse about 10-12 times until you get a mixture of fine crumbs and small chunks. Alternatively, put the cookies in a gallon-sized zip-top bag, squeeze out the air, and crush with a rolling pin. Set aside in a small bowl.
  2. Make the pudding: In a large mixing bowl, pour in the 3 cups of cold milk. Add both boxes of instant chocolate pudding mix. Whisk vigorously for about 2 minutes until smooth and starting to thicken.
  3. Let the pudding set: Let the pudding sit for about 5 minutes until it is thick but still spoonable, like a thick milkshake.
  4. Layer the cups: Start with a generous spoonful of crushed Oreos in the bottom of each cup (about 2 tablespoons). Press it down gently. Next, spoon or pipe in the chocolate pudding, filling each cup about halfway. Tap the cup gently on the counter to settle the pudding.
  5. Add the gummy worms: Take 2-3 gummy worms and press them gently into the pudding layer so they look like they’re crawling out, leaving a bit of each worm sticking up above the surface.
  6. Top with more Oreo crumble: Add another generous layer of crushed Oreos on top (about 2-3 tablespoons per cup), covering the pudding completely. Use your fingers or a small spoon to create little mounds and dips.
  7. Garnish and chill: Sprinkle a few Halloween sprinkles on top if using. Add one more gummy worm on top. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving for best results.

Notes

For best results, use cold whole milk for the richest pudding. Crush Oreos right before assembling to keep them crunchy. If making ahead, add the top layer of Oreo crumble just before serving to maintain crunch. The pudding will continue to set as it sits, so don’t over-mix. For a dairy-free version, use oat milk and check that Oreos are vegan-friendly (they are).
